The EpiCard™

The EpiCard™

Anaphylaxis is a serious allergic reaction that is rapid in onset and may cause death. Up to 43 million people in the United States suffer from allergic reactions that could lead to anaphylaxis.1 Food allergies, primarily seen in children, affect 2% of the United States population. The peanut allergic population alone is doubling every five years.2 In addition, the majority of food allergy fatalities occur outside the home and are associated with either the failure to use epinephrine, or a delay in administering it.3 In fact, in a study of anaphylaxis deaths, 90% of patients did not have their epinephrine available at the onset of their fatal anaphylactic reaction.4 On average, 5 people die from anaphylactic shock in the US each day.5

Intelliject’s EpiCard™ is the first significant innovation in the epinephrine auto-injector market in over 25 years. Designed by patients at risk for anaphylaxis, it is designed to be the smallest, safest, and most user-friendly auto-injector ever developed. Through Intelliject’s human factors engineering design expertise and strong intellectual property platform, EpiCard™ is a patient-centric prescription device that will allow the at-risk patient to manage his/her severe allergic emergency with control, confidence, and without fear.
