T. Spencer Williamson IV

T. Spencer Williamson, IV is President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Intelliject, he spent 15 years with Guidant Corporation, now Boston Scientific Corporation. Spencer held positions in business development, sales, sales management, marketing and general management. He began his career in the Medical Devices and Diagnostics Division of Eli Lilly & Co. working in the business development group which was responsible for identifying medical device companies and novel technologies to invest in or acquire. In 1994, Guidant Corporation was formed and spun off from Eli Lilly & Co. As a member of Guidant, Spencer spent several years in Cardiac Rhythm Management sales and then took over the position of Regional Sales Manager in the same division. He then served as Director of Global Marketing for Guidant's $1.7B pacemaker and defibrillator business. Spencer’s most recent position with Guidant was Director of Operations for the western United States, a 120 person $250M business. Spencer holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute and a MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He was a Naval Officer for four years serving on a guided missile destroyer in the Pacific Fleet.

Mark J. Licata

Mark J. Licata is Vice President, Engineering and Manufacturing Operations. He is responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing process for the Company including aseptic fill-finish operations, device assembly, and packaging. Mark has been in the medical device industry for 24 years starting with Bayer USA where he was responsible for medical device applications in the plastics division. At Medtronic Neurosurgical, he launched several products including an implantable morphine pump before holding senior engineering positions at two start-up companies; O.R. Solutions and Hemodyne Inc. Most recently Mark was founder of Bio-Track, a medical device commercialization company. Bio-Track developed medical device concepts and provided regulatory assistance to a broad range of clients. He has been granted 20 patents in the medical device field. He is a member of the Society for Biomaterials, American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation. Mark holds a Masters degree in Colloids, Polymers, and Surfaces (Biomedical Engineering) from Carnegie-Mellon University.

Ronald D. Gunn

Ronald D. Gunn is Vice President, Drug Development and directs all aspects of clinical drug development and regulatory affairs at Intelliject. He has over 22 years of pharmaceutical and biotechnology development and operations experience. Prior to joining Intelliject, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Insmed Incorporated where he directed all operational activities for the company including Research & Development, Finance & Administration, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Intellectual Property. During his 12 year career at Insmed, Ron directed the compilation, submission and management of several IND applications, US and EU Orphan Drug Applications, numerous domestic and foreign clinical studies ranging from Phase I through Phase IV and the successful submission and approval of a NDA for a novel orphan biologic product. Prior to joining Insmed, he held several clinical, business development and operational positions with domestic and foreign companies within the pharmaceutical industry. From 1994 to 1996 he served as Clinical Affairs Officer at Leiras Pharmaceuticals, Inc. where he managed US clinical development and supported business development activities. From 1992 to 1994, Ron was Manager of Clinical Operations at Whitby Research, Inc. Prior to Whitby, he held several positions of increasing responsibility in clinical development at A.H. Robins Co. Ron received his Masters of Business Administration degree and his Masters of Science Degree in Statistics from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Kristopher D. Ford

Kristopher D. Ford is Vice President, Business Development. Kris has 17 years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience and has a broad base of deal experience including in and out-licensing, co-promotion, divestments, M&A, joint ventures, venture financing, and IPOs. Prior to joining Intelliject, Kris was head of business development and licensing for UCB Pharma North America from 2002 - 2008. He was co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Inceutica from 2000 - 2002. He was co-founder and Vice President of Corporate Development for Oasis Biosciences from 1998 - 2000. At AAI Pharma, Kris served as Director of Business Development and Licensing and was with the firm in several roles of increasing responsibility from 1994 - 1998. He began his career with Bristol-Myers - Squibb and served in business development, market research and sales roles from 1990 - 1993. Kris holds BS and MS degrees from NC State University in Raleigh and an MBA from University of North Carolina in Wilmington.

Karen R. Krumeich

Karen Krumeich is Chief Financial Officer. Karen was a partner at Tatum for one year prior to joining Intelliject. Prior to Tatum, she was CFO of Electro-Optical Sciences, Inc. (EOS), a development stage medical device company. She was the financial lead for a successful IPO and was responsible for managing SEC reporting, accounting and finance, human resources, investor relations, and information systems. She served in CFO roles for Caligor of Schein Company, Anthra Pharmaceuticals and GCI Pharmacies of Grancare. She was Director Health Systems Management for Bristol-Myers Squibb and was a consultant for several private companies including Vivus Pharmaceuticals, National Specialty Clinics and Skila. In addition to her financial experience, she has a clinical background in pharmacy. Karen holds a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Toledo and a secondary major in accounting.

Eric S. Edwards

Eric S. Edwards is one of the co-founders of Intelliject and serves as the Chief Scientific Officer. He is co-inventor of the company’s technology platforms. Eric is an active member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences, serving as a scientific reviewer for the Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery Section of the National Biotechnology Conference and is a member of the Parenteral Drug Association. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s guaranteed admission program to the Medical College of Virginia’s School of Medicine. While at VCU, Eric received a B.S. in Biology, was an Honors and Provost Scholar. Most recently, Eric was offered a full scholarship to pursue his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics with a concentration in Pharmacotherapy at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Pharmacy.

Evan T. Edwards

Evan T. Edwards is one of the co-founders of Intelliject and serves as Vice President, Product Development. He is co-inventor of Intelliject’s technology platforms and manages all areas of the invention and design process, including the company’s intellectual property portfolio. Evan has been recognized for his work in human factors engineering (HFE) and leads the company’s efforts to be well aligned with the FDA’s HFE program. He is actively involved with both the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society (HFES) and the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA). Evan is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.S. in Systems Engineering with a concentration on HFE.
